TRAVEL GRANTS:

A total of 5 travel grants of up to $1,200 for travel and lodging expenses will be provided by the IFSS to investigators based on scientific merit and financial need.   Individuals from underdeveloped countries are encouraged to apply for these travel awards.  A total of 40 travel grants of up to $1000 for travel and lodging expenses will also be provided by the US Shock Society to additional investigators based on scientific merit and financial need.  Selected applicants applying for these awards may also be asked to give a 3-4 minute oral presentation to an audience of their awardee/student peers in the “Oral presentations by and for New Investigators” on Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

 The appropriate box on your electronically submitted abstract must be marked for consideration in the New Investigators Competition. A copy of your electronically transmitted abstract must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a brief letter from the advisor guaranteeing the participant's eligibility, willingness to publish the work in SHOCK, senior role in the project, and that no part of the work will be presented at a national or international meeting prior to the Shock Society Meeting. Applicants for travel grant awards must also mark appropriate box on abstract form and include a statement of need for travel assistance. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered for awards.
