In order to attend this in-person event you must comply with mandatory safety measures, without exception and for the entire duration of the meeting. Anyone who refuses to comply will be asked to leave the meeting and registration will not be refunded. Specific requirements for social distancing, mask wearing, and other safety procedures will be in accordance with the most current CDC guidelines and in compliance with the specific regulations of Portland, Oregon.


Specific Requirements (These may be adjusted based on government guidelines in effect at the time of the meeting.)

  • The wearing of masks will be mandatory at all times, where directed to do so.
  • Meeting room seating will be in accordance with stated social distancing requirements. 
  • Maintain social distancing in all meeting activities and locations. 
  • Wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently throughout the meeting. There will be hand sanitizers available in the meeting space. 
  • Act responsibly outside of the Shock Society meeting space. Comply with CDC guidelines and requirements of the City of Portland, Oregon.

Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation must be submitted to the Shock Society Meeting Management Office in writing prior to Monday, August 9, 2021. Please send notification to [email protected]. Cancellations received by Monday, August 9, 2021, will be subject to a $50 non-refundable processing fee. No refunds will be issued after Monday, August 9, 2021. Travel and accommodation cancellations remain the sole responsibility of the individual.

If you need to cancel in advance due to broader closures or changing COVID-19 developments, you may request a refund of your registration fee by contacting Shock’s Executive Director, Serena G. Weisman, at [email protected] and your request will be reviewed by the executive officers.
