Dr. Christine Metz received her BS and MS degrees from Cornell University and MS and PhD degrees in immunology/pathology from New York University. Currently, she is a Professor at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research at Northwell Health and a Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in the Departments of OB/GYN and Molecular Medicine. In addition, she is the Director of the OB/GYN Research Program at Northwell Health. Dr. Metz has been funded by grants from NY State, the American Heart Association, as well as the NIH. She has published >150 peer-reviewed research papers and 15 review articles/book chapters, and is an inventor or co-inventor on 5 patents. Her research primarily focuses on identifying mechanisms that underlie dysfunctional inflammatory responses. Much of this work centers on conditions that affect women, including preeclampsia and preterm labor, as well as endometriosis.
